OPEN INNOVATION - WORKING WITH OTHERS TO MAKE NEW IDEAS FLY
Open Innovation allows organisations to look beyond their internal resources to develop new products, services, and sources of revenue.
The Open Innovation Project took place from 2010 to 2014 and stimulated the application of collaborative open innovation models to co-create and develop new products and services. It did this through the collaborative effort of partnership of local governments, universities, business support services, and other public bodies is delivering a diverse and dynamic programme of activities across the UK, France, Germany, Ireland and Belgium.
Some of the key achievements were as follows:
- 265 jobs were created.
- 223 new products and processes were created.
- 170 enterprises were created
- 378,840 Euro additional funding was leveraged

The Open Innovation Project was funded by the INTERREG IVB North-West Europe. Programme and the total budget was 10.4 million Euro.
